Chahkalalanwala:
Arsenic and Fluorides Contamination in groundwater

The environmental and health issues of this village are a challenge to City
Planners and Environmentalists of Pakistan and international community.

Chahkalalanwala is a village where around 8 years ago the world media including
BBC rushed to highlight the cases of bone deformation among children. Some
severe cases were brought to hospitals in Lahore city. Some were operated and
some treated in the outdoor. The government agencies provided alternate source of
water supply, and the Government declared this area as a Model Village because of
having water supply from Tubewel and thats all.

What has happened during last 8 years and what is happening at present and what
is the future of residents of Chahklalanwala Village?

What is the Problem in
Chahklalanwala Village?
