Civil Society Network (CSN), Kasur
CSN Kasur works as local unit of Civil Society Network (CSN)
established by Dr. Tatsuro Sakano, Department of Social
Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan.  The founder
and the first Chairman of CSN-Kasur was Late Mr. Malik Meraj
Khalid, the former (Caretaker) Prime Minister of Pakistan. At
present CSN is working under the leadership of Raja Younis Kayani
(Ex-President District Bar Association Kasur).

VEER KASUR
CSN offers opportunity for young volunteers to take part in its local
initiatives by joining VEER. VEER is the network of Volunteers for
Education and Environmental Rehabilitation working under each
CSN in Pakistan.

The Civil Society Network (CSN) was established
in Kasur by (Late) Malik Meraj Khalid, former

Dr. Sakano has been involved in research about
Kasur since 1999. His major research work is about
environmental self-governance in Kasur through
civil society network (CSN).
Dr. Hideharu Morishita, Professor, Aichi Gakuin
University. Former Faculty of Asian Institute of
Technology (AIT) has been involved in research
about environmental issues of Kasur since 1996. His
major field is GIS applications for environmental
impact assessment in Kasur.
Civil Society Network
(CSN) is the symbol of
united action by the
citizens of Kasur to solve
water problems in the city.
Strengthening Civil Society Networks in Pakistan for their vital role in the process of social development through action-oriented research initiatives at grassroots level.
UDERC also serves as a platform to strengthen people-to-people interaction between Japan and Pakistan through eco-tourism, language programs and cultural exchange activities.
