Urban Development and Environmental Research Center (UDERC)  is a registered Center under the
Registration of Societies Act with the City Government Lahore, the Government of Pakistan.  UDERC works as
collaborative research center with several local and international research institutions in order to conduct action
oriented research work in Pakistan in the field of environment,  provision of safe drinking water, social development,
disability, environmental literacy and urban planning
. UDERC works by strengthening the civil society networks in
Pakistan through their active involvement in action-oriented research activities at grassroots level. These research
initiatives are taken under the scientific support and technical guidance of Japanese scientists and researchers.
UDERC also serves as a platform to strengthen the bilateral relations through people-to-people interaction between
Japan and Pakistan through eco-tourism, language programs and cultural exchange activities.
